Car of the Week: Robs 2006 Subaru Baja

Most of us like to drink from the same cup, modify the same cars with identical parts and brand names. This car, isn’t the case. When I think Subaru, I think STi and Rally racing. Rob, thought truck. The vehicle you see here is nothing to shake a stick at. This Baja is a flat out beast.

Built by the graceful hands at Area1320 in Easton, Pa., the Baja was in good hands for Rob from the start. The Baja comes to life through hybrid EJ257 SB EJ255 Heads and CP pistons and an FP 68HTA Turbo and a Tial 44mm EWG and emits its devilish sounds courtesy of a custom side exit exhaust. S

With ACT goodies and a PPG gearset, the transmission is more than capable of holding the power the Baja puts to the ground. The suspension mainly consists of Whiteline Sways with kartboy endlinks out front and AVO endlinks out back. The Baja rolls around on OZ Ultraleggera’s wrapped in Sumitomo HTR ZIII for the summer and Dunlop Wintersport M3 for winter.

As stated before, this Baja is an absolute monster. There is nothing else like it on the road, making 340 AWHP and 365 AWTQ after the built trans, the RobHaa as its called is nothing to be messed with. A lot of time, sweat, money and late hours went in to making this what it is today: a pavement-pounding, snow-snorting beast. If you’re ever in the Tri-state area and see Rob and his Baja coming behind you… please… move out of the way of the RobHaa.
